Simulated AFE

The Analog front-end (AFE) solution offered by the KnowHow-Tech technical team is an analog conditioning module that acts as a bridge between the sensor and the digital system, and its performance is critical to the overall performance of the ultrasonic system.

Specifically, it includes the following aspects:

l  Signal amplification: when the received signal is too weak to meet the requirements of the system's noise load ratio, low noise amplifier should be used in the front end for amplification to improve the noise load ratio;
l  Frequency conversion: In order to achieve a certain configuration of the transmission channel and sometimes to avoid some interference, the front end needs to transform some channels;
l  Modulation and demodulation: when receiving satellite and microwave signals, it is necessary to demodulate them first, recover the visual and audio signals, and then modulate them into radio frequency signals of the selected channel; Self-run programs also need to be modulated before entering the mixer; In addition, some open circuit signals are also processed by demodulation - modulation transformation;

l  Adjacent frequency processing: adjacent frequency processing mainly includes surface sound wave filtering, phase locked loop (PLL) frequency synthesis technology, image and sound division channel processing, A/V ratio adjustable technology, used to complete the modulation, demodulation, frequency conversion, mixing and other functions;
l  Level adjustment and control: It is used to adjust and control the level of each channel so that the level fluctuation within and between channels does not exceed the required range;
l  Signal mixing: The purpose of mixing is to combine all the processed signals together so that they can be transmitted on one line.

Following the success of delivering AFEs to the market for mid-range and portable applications, there are now many novel AFEs targeting a wide variety of applications: wired and wireless communications, industrial electronics, and consumer products, with specialized and generic AFEs emerging to meet multiple market needs. Mixed-signal AFE chips are ideal for a variety of applications (special or general purpose), and using AFE can speed up system design and production time.
